After a successful 16 races, the 2017-18 Nissan State Series had it’s epic finale at the Moreton Bay Triathlon last weekend. With Championship points on the line, over 870 athletes lined up to make their mark on the series.
The Nissan State Series, which kicked off at the Greater Springfield Duathlon last July, has seen athletes compete in locations such as Port Douglas, Goondiwindi, Mt Isa, Yeppoon and Kingscliff. Over 1200 members across the State took part in our largest series to date.
Age Group Winners were announced at the Champions of Queensland Awards afternoon, which followed immediately on from the Moreton Bay Triathlon. For the State Series, the highest awards are broken into 5 categories:
Under 16 Male Athlete of the Year: Jackson Medway, Be Energetic Tri & Run Club
Under 16 Female Athlete of the Year: Ashley Plane, Team T-Rex
Male Athlete of the Year: Phil Davies, Bayside Multisport
Female Athlete of the Year: Cath Rogers, Vision Tri Club
Highest Overall Point Scorer: Phil Davies, Bayside Multisport
