Kingscliff Triathlon attracts top athletes

15 Mar, 2018 / 0

Fresh from winning the Ironman 70.3 New Zealand a couple of weeks ago, Madi Roberts will line up to take the win at the Kingscliff Triathlon this weekend.

The Men’s Open category sees Kiwi Adam Gordon, NSW member Dan Stein, Lindsay Lawry & Jack Orr among others line up in a strong field which will see fast racing from the outset.

Commonwealth Games bound Bill Chaffey and Sara Tait are also on the start list.

For Age Group Athletes, the chance to be crowned State Champion – Standard Distance awaits them, with many of last year’s winners lining up to maintain their title.

Being a Championship race, Nissan State Series points are weighted 1.5 times their normal value, meaning changes in the leaderboard are a real possibility this close to the end of the series.  In the Nissan State Series, State Championship events for Cross Triathlon and Sprint Distance are still to come, as is the Cloncurry Heat Triathlon.

Triathlon Queensland will be at the event with our Kids Transition Challenge – come down and say hello!
